Countdown 2 Zero - 2022
We're proud to participate in the 9th Annual Countdown 2 Zero Pet Adoption Event! Please join us on Saturday, September 24th, as we greet potential adopters at the Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control Shelter on Belvedere Road (West Palm Beach). We'll have our Prize Wheel oiled and ready to spin into action, giving away prizes like dog and cat food, dog and cat treats, dog and cat toys, gift cards, and promotional items!
The Countdown 2 Zero campaign launched back in 2014 as a way to eliminate the need to euthanize thousands of adoptable cats and dogs over the next decade. It's a public/private collaboration, initiated by Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control, the Board of County Commissioners, and Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League. They bring together animal welfare organizations from all over the county, including smaller rescue groups who work with the shelter all year long.
Big shout-out to the rescue groups who are participating. These are groups that tend to pull the most adoptable pets out of PBACC over the entire year:
- Animal Rescue Force of South Florida
- Barky Pines Animal Rescue & Sanctuary
- Dezzy's Second Chance Animal Rescue
- Furry Friends Adoption, Clinic & Rescue
- Save a Pet Florida
- Shining Horse Farm & Sanctuary
- The Grateful Dog Haven
- Tri-County Animal Rescue
- Probably more to be confirmed as the event get closer!
This year's event will have two parts: in-person events on Saturday from 10am to 4pm at both the Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League and the Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control campuses. Adoption promotions and specials will continue throughout the week! Thousands of dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, and other animals will be waiting to meet their new "furever families"!
We're proud to participate in and help sponsor this event along with other local businesses in Palm Beach county including Scenthound, Very Important Paws, Nozzle Nolen, Searcy Denney, Scarola, Barnhart & Shipley, Inn at the Dog House, Camp Rusty Dog Retreat, BRK Republic, Camp Bow Wow, Veterinary Emergency Group, and The Pet Taxi.
You can hear about the event on local news stations like Sunny 107.9, 850 WFTL, 97.9 WRMF, New Country 103.1, and Fox Sports 640AM
